DescriptionThis is one of the posters produced by John Massey, art director of the Container Corporation of America (CCA) as part of the Chicago Cultural Communication Project. Its aim was “to provide the city of Chicago with a consistent series of brilliant and unusual posters calling attention to the many cultural and recreational facilities available to its population.” Posters like this one, commissioned from various artists by the CCA for its advertising series, played a critical role in disseminating modernist graphic design to the broad American public. The bright geometries of this poster urge viewers to ""run jump play look walk think dream"" in the huge expanse of Lincoln Park on Chicago’s North Side.
