DescriptionTomoko Miho's design here is one from a series of 16 posters produced for the Chicago Cultural Communication Project by the Container Corporation of America (CCA) and the Center for Advanced Research in Design (CARD). The posters celebrate the city's parks, architecture, and cultural institutions; although each is unique, together they point to the influence of Swiss Grid posters with their clean compositions and minimal text. The image probably shows the Inland Steel Building designed by the distinguished architectural firm of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in 1958. The silkscreen on aluminized paper of the poster suggests the reflective metal facade of the actual structure.
