DescriptionIn this posters for the Chicago Cultural Communication project, Rieben creates a composition based on the the Swiss Grid style, again combined with the typical Helvetica typeface. The Museum of Science and Industry promoted here was built for Chicago's 1893 World's Columbian Exhibition. As in his poster in this series for the Field Museum, however, Rieben does not actually show the similarly grand neo-classical museum building but represents the institution in the bold colors and abstract geometries that are also emblematic of a specific moment in 1960s modernism.
