DescriptionThis poster was part of an ambitious advertising campaign by Mitsubishi, the Japanese automobile manufacturer, for its Minica '70 car, released in July 1969. The car was a much more efficient and comfortable version of the light van it had introduced under the name "Minica" in 1961 and proved extremely popular. The somewhat surreal photographic image here, showing an alluring woman lying in the dirt in the foreground (she might even be dead), with her Minica car abandoned on the road behind her, its door open and lights on, is characteristic of those in this series.
