DescriptionThe huge, hairy yeti with a tray of drinks was the unlikely mascot of Royal Nepal Airlines (now known simply as Nepal Airlines), founded in 1958 by the government of Nepal. This sketchy figure of the yeti, an alarming mythological creature believed to roam the Himalayas (Nepal is one of the countries crossed by the mountain range) by an unknown designer is at once hideous and disarming as he turns to look over his shoulder at the viewer. The airline was, in fact, known for its award-winning in-flight service, and also offered cargo service known as “yeti cargo.”
