DescriptionThis is a poster for a film distributed by Progress-Film Verleih for the 1983 German release of a 1982 Soviet film originally titled Sportloto-82. The title refers to the lotto game four unconnected passengers play in a train compartment. Gerhard Rappus’s composition, showing two hapless characters going round on a lottery wheel in an ineffectual search for a lost lottery ticket worth a fortune, emphasizes the comic side of this convoluted tale. It was one of the most popular films ever at the Soviet box office.
