DescriptionDonald Brun was one of four graphic designers in Basel, Switzerland (the others were Peter Birkhauser, Niklaus Stoecklin, and Herbert Leupin) who embraced the German Sachplakat (object poster) style of the early decades of the 20th century in their posters of the 1940s and 50s. Brun promotes a French Roger & Gallet lipstick to Swiss consumers in a lithographic poster featuring the hyperrealism, bold color, and focus on the object being promoted that define the style. After World War II, Roget & Gallet, famous for its colognes, soaps, and toiletries, introduced a range of new perfumes and cosmetics. On View
