DescriptionIn this rather simple design with a limited color palette, the phone company encourages a professional man in jacket and tie to call home during his business trip, suggesting another possible use of the telephone, one that would be much less costly than a return flight (although certainly not inexpensive). The first coast-to-coast call in the United States had been made between New York and San Francisco in January 1915, and long-distance domestic calls swiftly became widely available to the few who could afford them.On View
