DescriptionThis is part of a 1947 series of work-incentive posters titled “It’s Up to All of Us!” produced by the Sheldon-Claire Company of Chicago. The company was in operation between 1926 and 1980 and published posters, pamphlets, and manuals used by companies and municipal and government agencies. During World War II, it created posters urging workers to “Produce for Victory!,” Stay on the Job!,” and “Win the War!” The series “It’s Up to All of Us!” was issued during a period of post-war economic expansion and prosperity, and its message was fully in keeping with the 1946 Employment Act, which stated that government policy was “to promote maximum employment, production, and purchasing power.”
