DescriptionThis poster of actress Farrah Fawcett in a red bathing suit is reputed to be the best-selling poster in history; 12 million copies were sold. In 1976, Pro Arts of Ohio, hoping simply to sell posters, asked each of the stars of the forthcoming TV action drama, Charlie’s Angels (the others were Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith), to pose in a swimsuit in return for a share of the profits. At Fawcett’s request, the company hired photographer Bruce McBroom to take pictures. Fawcett herself narrowed down her favorite photographs from 36 frames, eventually choosing the one that made her an instant sensation. It was issued in the same year that her acting career took off; in 1976, Fawcett starred in the cult sci-fi film Logan’s Run and the first series of the hugely successful Charlie’s Angels was appeared on TV screens. On View
