DescriptionThis poster was commissioned from Eladio Rivadulla Martínez by the Ministerio de la Construción (MICONS), founded in May 1963 under the new Castro regime in Cuba. The ministry centralized all aspects of the building of new infrastructure in the country, from urban planning to maintenance. The message of Rivadulla’s charming, almost childlike image here is intended to be easily understood; like the cat whose form is defined by the paper, licking itself with an eye-catching red tongue, we are all responsible for keeping ourselves and our environment clean.On View
