DescriptionBetween 1925 and 1929, the average time between a new subscriber's request for a telephone and its installation by the company had been reduced from an average of five days to an average of two. The emphasis on the practicality and low cost of the device had long featured in the telephone advertising by the time this rather utilitarian poster was produced. However, its message would have had special relevance in the early years of the Great Depression.
