DescriptionElmes was one of the illustrators commissioned to design around 350 work-incentive posters for the Chicago-based printing firm, Mather & Company, between 1923 and 1929. Series of these colorful posters, each featuring eye-catching imagery and an inspirational message for workers, were sold to office and factory managers all over America. During a period of economic expansion, slogans like the one here, as well as "Watch Your Step ... Be Tactful!" and Diving for Success ... Mean It and You'll Make it" were intended to encourage productivity during a period of economic expansion.
