DescriptionThis poster promotes the fall 2019 collection of famous New York fashion designer Anna Sui. Christened “Poptimistic,” the collection of brightly colored, campy clothes was inspired by the designer’s love of 1960s rock concert posters. She stated that "I collect posters like other people collect art. I filled my mood boards with them. My favorite rock posters are the handbills from the Grande Ballroom in Detroit by Gary Grimshaw, who did posters for bands like MC5, the Yardbirds, and Cream." This poster by the design team at Anna Sui is a sophisticated pastiche of the psychedelic imagery of that decade.On View
