DescriptionThis is one of many advertising posters designed by Charles Loupot after he moved to Paris in 1923. In this simple promotion for a French foundry producing wood- and coal-burning stoves, he focuses on the brilliant flame produced by the burning logs in the foreground. The composition relates in some ways to Loupot’s more famous design from his early years in Paris, the poster for the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in the city in 1925. In that poster, rather than showing any of the many decorative objects on display at this world’s fair, he emphasized industrial production, showing smoke billowing from factories in the background.
